Summer School Belgrade - Konstanz

The Zoran Djindjic Foundation and the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Belgrade University established the cooperation with the Department of  Politics and Public Administration of the University in Konstanz where Zoran Djindjic earned his PhD degree in 1979. The Summer School of European Integration and Democratisation Process is aimed at promotion of the vision that would guide the young leaders and motivate them to think about political and social challenges in their country and analyse them. Students of undergraduate and master studies, 12 participants from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade and 12 participants from the Department of Politics and Public Administration from Konstanz have the right to participate in the School. Students  have an opportunity to discuss the key issues of European integration and the democratisation process with the eminent professors of both universities, focusing on the stabilisation and the very process of association of the countries of the Western Balkans with the European Union.

 

The main goals of the Summer school are:

  • Defining and evaluating various theories on crating the concept of democratisation and European integration.

  • Recognizing and analysing key factors required for conducting the democratisation and European integration process. 

  • Unterstanding and informing about the history of conflicts in the Western Balkans, as well as the political development in the region, focusing on the development of regional cooperation.

Zoran Djindjic Regional School of Political Philosophy

Zoran Djindjic Foundation and the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade launched the project of regional character  with the goal to analyse the role of the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Djindjic in the democratisation of Serbia, strengthening of regional cooperation and to enable the understanding of the theory of political philosophy. The Zoran Djindjic Regional School of Political Philosophy is a six-day seminar with 30 young people from Serbia and the region having an opportunity to attend a number of lectures on the analysis of political theory, Zoran Djindjic as a visionary, modernisation and regional reconciliation. The main cause for the realisation of the project of the Zoran Djindjic Regional School  of Political Philosophy is the affirmation of the heritage of Zoran Djindjic and his ideas of reconciliation in the region, ethics, responsibility, tolerance and political culture, as well as the systemic understanding of the theory of political philosophy. Students of undergraduate and master studies in the areas of social sciences from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia are entitled to participate. The young people actively involved in the process of democratisation in the states from which they come, through work at universities and institutes, in NGO sector, or through political activism. The School is held in Belgrade once a year and the lectures are held at the Faculty of Political Sciences.

The main goals of the project are:

  • Learning the basic notions of political philosophy and deepening of the theoretic knowledge in the area of rule of law.

  • Critical analysis of the political philosophy of Zoran Djindjic and the infulence of his policy on the normalisation of relations in the region.

  • Analysis of political relations in the region in the 21st century.
